Nigel Dennis
CPP.APMP Fellow

Nigel is a co-founder and BidWrite director. A leading consultant in the proposal management profession in Australia, Nigel has developed a significant international reputation, presenting at seven annual world proposal management conferences since 2008.

Supported with qualifications in engineering, commerce and marketing, Nigel’s strengths include bid strategy development, bid management, bid planning and bid writing. He is also a firm believer in ongoing professional learning, this seeing him take a lead role in the development and delivery of BidWrite’s training offerings.

Nigel is a strong advocate for the profession. In 2008 he founded the Australian/NZ chapter of the Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) and has served on the chapter board every year since. Chapter Chair from 2012 to 2015 and the current Certification Chair, he also served a 3-year term on the international APMP Board of Directors (2011-2013), the first Australian to be appointed to such a role. Nigel was the first Australian to achieve the APMP’s highest level of professional certification (CPP APMP) and in 2015 was made a Fellow of the APMP for his outstanding contribution to the profession.

David Lunn
CP.APMP

David is a co-founder and director of BidWrite. He brings direct buyer side experience to our team through 28 years capital and operations procurement experience across defence, mining, oil & gas and professional service sectors.

David’s broader functional and valuable 360 degree tendering view is further reinforced with engineering and business qualifications, plus professional certifications for both the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) and the Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP).

The unique perspective provided by David’s in-depth knowledge of ‘both sides of the bidding fence’ sees him especially sought after for bid and capture strategy development as well as receiving regular invitations to present at industry conferences and training events – both buyer and seller side. David also applies his commercial expertise to leading BidWrite’s sales and marketing activities.

David Harvey
CP.APMP

Joining as BidWrite Director in 2010, David oversees Australian east coast operations from our Brisbane office. In addition to being an experienced and respected bid consultant in his own right, David brings executive team leadership experience within the aerospace, defence and software industries.

Holding tertiary qualifications in Engineering, David has amassed subject matter expertise in systems engineering, sustainment logistics and workforce management. His broad skillset also spans program management, engineering analysis and review, strategy development, organisational development and business improvement.

David’s analytical approach and diverse professional background enables him to quickly identify the key drivers in a business –an invaluable skill for bid strategy planning and articulating competitive advantage in major bid situations. As part of his internal responsibilities, David also provides mentoring to newer staff and oversees the recruitment and broader human resource function within BidWrite.

Rodger Manning
CPP.APMP

Rodger joined BidWrite in 2013. Specialising in Defence, he has more the 25 years international proposal management, project management and business development experience. Rodger’s expertise was recognised with him being awarded Defence Connect Consultant of the Year in 2020.

Holding the highest level of APMP certification possible, Rodger leads BidWrite’s Defence tendering team and both manages and contributes directly to complex and often international JV Defence bids. His expertise is also sought for Defence tendering training and he presents a variety of regular training programs for the Australian Industry and Defence Network (AIDN).

Rodger also makes valuable ongoing contributions to the Australian Defence industry through presenting at industry events, contributing expert editorial and participating in industry panels at leading Defence industry conferences. Rodger has a keen interest in industry collaboration and innovation as a means to strengthen Australia’s defence and national security capability.

Mark Riley
CPP.APMP

After an initial period with BidWrite as Managing Consultant between 2017 and 2018, Mark rejoined the team in January 2022. He brings 30 years of diverse business and consulting experience gained in the UK, Hong Kong and Australia, helping major businesses transform their win rates through better pursuit, proposal and presentation practices.

Mark is one of only a handful of people worldwide who holds the highest level of APMP certification and is a regular speaker at international events on proposal best practices. A master strategist, Mark thrives on finding that hidden competitive edge, and the thrill of winning and retaining business with our clients.

Mark’s passion for implementing best practice bid processes and behaviours is allied with pragmatic, hands-on experience gained through sales leadership coaching roles in major corporate organisations in the facilities management, construction, and professional services sectors.

Having practiced as a Professional Engineering Geologist for over 15 years early in his career, Mark uses his technical background to understand and simplify complexity.

Kelly Richmond
CP.APMP

Kelly joined as BidWrite’s first full-time employee in 2010. Prior, Kelly put her public relations and sociology degree to good effect, with business development and strategic communications roles within private industry and Government. Through these roles, she discovered tendering through issuing requests for tenders and proposals, preparing submissions and managing grant funding.

Having worked in tendering for more than 17 years, Kelly has made a significant contribution to BidWrite’s development, including a relocation from Perth to establish our Melbourne office. She has also made significant contributions to the profession through serving on the committee of the APMP ANZ Chapter, as well as presenting at APMP conferences in Australia and the United States.

As managing consultant, Kelly balances an ongoing portfolio of client-side work alongside recruitment, Melbourne office management and overseeing the professional development programme for new BidWrite staff.

Richard Southern

Since starting in 2012, Richard has been integral to BidWrite’s development, supporting business growth and contributing to many large-scale tenders, complex in content and structure. Richard’s deep experience and interpersonal abilities lend themselves well to his role as managing consultant.

Holding a Bachelor of Arts in professional writing, Richard’s career is characterised by a series of creative and copywriting roles, the research component of which enables him to quickly understand our clients’ businesses and articulate their capabilities within clear and persuasive tender responses.

In 2019 Richard received a global ‘APMP 40 under 40’ award, which recognises young professionals who’ve made a notable impact and contribution to the proposal management profession.

Mark King

Mark joined the BidWrite team in 2015, bringing nearly 20 years Defence experience, both in direct service for the US Navy, plus bid and technical project management roles within domestic and international Defence organisations. Mark’s industry and technical expertise is supported with strong commercial experience and a post graduate qualification in Business.

Having led bid teams across a wide range of industries, Mark is an experienced bid manager with a proven track record on high value proposals. Mark’s strong interpersonal and team leadership skills, supplemented with project management experience allow him to expertly manage external bidding teams, helping them work together more effectively and navigate the challenges inherent in larger bids. As a Managing Consultant, Mark draws on his wide ranging experience when mentoring BidWrite colleagues.

Peter Blunden
CP.APMP

Peter joined BidWrite as GM Growth in 2023. With extensive UK-based experience in strategy and capture management, he brings a unique set of skills to help clients improve their probability of winning contracts through early-stage support including capture-centric assessments, strategy workshops and win-capability building.

Starting his bidding career more than 17 years ago within a Defence cyber security business, Peter became very familiar with the practical elements of work-winning before progressing to more senior roles such as Head of Bid Management, Sales Enablement Team Leader and Capture Coach.

To date, Peter has led, contributed to and collaborated on major Defence and rail contract wins totalling over $40B.

Nicole Coleman

Nicole joined BidWrite in 2015, bringing more than eight years construction and engineering industry experience. During this time, she developed knowledge and expertise which allows to relate to the specific challenges faced by construction clients when bidding for complex infrastructure and transport projects.

Nicole’s career was forged with a Bachelor of Environmental Management after which she held a series of roles which progressively included tendering responsibilities. Nicole’s natural organisation skills and meticulous attention to detail underpin her expertise at helping clients communicate complex project methodologies and manage complex bidding projects, while also guiding new staff as part of her senior bid consultant role.

Jehan Eltigi

Jehan joined BidWrite in 2017. She offers a wealth of professional experience gained across six countries and from three decades of market research and corporate communications in both public and private sectors.

Jehan is a committed communications professional. With a Master of Arts in Communications and journalism experience, Jehan thrives in larger projects which require the ability to quickly understand and communicate large amounts of complex information. Her journalism skills also make Jehan adept at succinctly interviewing technical subject matter experts. In her role as senior bid consultant, Jehan is equally valued for her bidding expertise, warm collegial approach and her high level of technical expertise with publishing software such as Microsoft Word.

Elodie Janvier

Elodie joined BidWrite in 2022, bringing over 10 years experience in strategic bid development. Elodie has managed and consulted on more than 500 bids, securing contracts collectively worth more than $300m.

In 2020 Elodie won an Award for Excellence granted by the University of Adelaide, this recognising her distinguished contributions to the University’s bidding endeavours and resulting increase in win rates.

With Masters level qualifications in Engineering and Science, Elodie offers a wealth of experience analysing technical data and persuasively conveying complex content to a lay audience. And as a former quality engineer in the Defence and Automotive sectors, Elodie also has a proven track record of helping multiple stakeholders achieve mutually satisfactory outcomes, often in high-pressure situations.

Tracy Campbell

Tracy joined BidWrite in 2021, after discovering the world of bids while working as a marketing assistant at a large national law firm. Her bidding skills have helped clients win federal, state and local government contracts within Defence, The Treasury, Department of Justice and Community Safety .

Tracy has also gained valuable private sector bidding experience in significant construction, finance and not for profit projects. Her writing abilities have been honed through qualifications in professional writing and editing as well as public relations. These, coupled with Tracy’s calm disposition and measured approach allow her to work closely with clients to build trust and gain an in-depth understanding of their businesses, enabling her to develop accurate messaging to craft compelling submissions.

Lillian Curthoys

Joining BidWrite in 2021 was a natural fit for Lillian. After completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in creative and professional writing, Lillian established her writing career with the Queensland Performing Arts Centre, then freelanced at Urban List Brisbane, Gold Coast and Perth, transforming client-supplied content into reader-ready editorials.

Lillian’s writing skills are supplemented with exceptional interpersonal skills gained through former hospitality and retail experience. This has given her a keen understanding of the importance of fostering good client relationships and the value of ensuring an outstanding client experience.

Jack Lio

Jack joined BidWrite from a legal background in insurance litigation where he managed claims for motor vehicle, home and heavy haulage insurance clients. As a former litigation lawyer, Jack understands the importance of compliance and deadlines, as well as the need for a strategic, evidence-based approach.

Experienced in the management of complex projects, Jack is also skilled in risk analysis and has a keen understanding of the practical considerations that ensure successful commercial outcomes. Aside from his legal training, Jack is also a fiction writer and is skilled at applying storytelling techniques to create compelling and winning bids.

Zoe Simpson

Zoe joined our Melbourne office in January 2022, bringing a decade of writing experience in various formats, both professional and creative. Immediately prior to joining BidWrite, Zoe was bid writer for a national waste management company.

Applying writing knowledge gained through a Bachelor’s degree in professional writing and a Diploma in social media marketing, Zoe has developed her writing and communication skills through a diverse range of professional roles including multi-channel copywriting, e-commerce copywriting and a communications officer for Local Government. The latter has provided Zoe with a well-developed understanding of the public sector and what it takes to win bids within it.

Andrew Yallop

Andrew joined BidWrite in 2022 after completing his PhD, bringing professional writing and editing skills as well as evidence-based analysis to client submissions. As a published researcher, Andrew understands how to craft compelling pitches and deliver work that meets rigorous publication requirements to strict deadlines.

Andrew’s keen eye for detail and expert understanding of narrative technique underpin his approach to bid writing. Having taught at tertiary level, Andrew is skilled at communicating complex and technical content to a diverse customer base. He has an inquiring mind, and the dynamic nature of bid consulting provides him with the diverse and stimulating challenges that motivate him to excel.

Paige Duffy

Paige joined BidWrite in 2022, bringing previous professional content writing experience gained within the not-for-profit, aged care and insurance sectors.

She is experienced at collaborating within diverse project teams and also in working with subject matter experts, having produced training and assessment content for a range of registered Australian Qualifications Framework qualifications.

Paige displays a well-honed talent for transforming complex technical information into highly readable and engaging content, and her strong writing and editorial skills are underpinned with a Bachelor of Arts in Extended Writing from The University of Queensland.

Caitlin Neate

Caitlin joined BidWrite in November of 2022, bringing almost a decade of professional writing and content creation experience gained across various formats including journalism, radio, web authoring, communications, editing and copywriting.

With much of this experience gained in a multi-client, freelancing capacity, they have a strong appreciation for rapidly changing priorities, building strong professional relationships,
and the pressures of working simultaneously with a range of clients to meet deadlines across multiple projects.

As a former business journalist, Caitlin is a skilled interviewer, with their curiosity and strong interpersonal skills supported by a talent for research and focused information gathering. These skills enable Caitlin to quickly synthesize and articulate complex information in a manner that is compelling, easy to understand and reader centric.

Anne-Marie Tripp

Prior to joining the BidWrite team in 2022, Anne-Marie worked as an editor, proofreader, and copywriter, specialising in non-fiction books and corporate documents. Her developmental, structural, and copy-editing experience ensures she is well-versed in guiding clients through all stages of the document production process – from initial concept through to final publication.

With capabilities spanning big ideas to small details, Anne-Marie has a proven ability to plan and execute projects involving multiple inputs and diverse subject matters. She particularly enjoys collaborating with clients to conceptualise and develop clear, engaging, reader-focussed content.

Anne-Marie holds a Master of Writing, Editing, and Publishing and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Philosophy and Literature, both of which provide a strong theoretical basis for her professional skills and experience.

Bridie Jones

Bridie relocated from Melbourne to join our Perth BidWrite office in 2022. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Professional Communications from RMIT and more than a decade of metro-based Local Government procurement experience, gained primarily within facilities management, venue management and software implementation projects.

Having worked procurement-side in a vibrant and progressive Council in inner-city Melbourne, Bridie offers our seller-side clients invaluable insights around tender specification writing, supplier tender briefings and tender evaluations, as well as contract planning, implementation and management. These insights are coupled with an intimate understanding of current and emerging public sector priorities.

Bridie’s first-hand Local Government procurement experience ensures she is uniquely placed to identify, plan and successfully integrate all the elements required of a compelling and successful tender submission.

Craig Jamieson

Craig joined BidWrite in 2023, bringing strong commercial experience gained from the manufacturing, supply chain, premium retail and not-for-profit industry sectors. Craig has an indepth knowledge of written proposals and technical project management, having worked on multi-million dollar tenders and subsequent product/service delivery with suppliers across mining, renewable energy, construction and infrastructure.

In 2019 Rob joined BidWrite as marketing and communications manager. Rob brings over two decades of marcomms and business development experience, gained within a diverse range of industries spanning tertiary education, local Government, property, software as a service and procurement.

Louise Deam

Louise is New Zealand based, joining BidWrite as Design and Digital Marketing Specialist in 2021. After completing a degree in visual communication design, Louise developed her skills within a number of graphic design and marketing roles, discovering a passion for digital.

She’s since gained multi-sector communications and marketing experience, most recently with Australasia’s largest tender notifier and procurement marketplace, making her an ideal fit for BidWrite. In addition to BidWrite responsibilities, Louise also provides design support and expertise for larger client bids.

Shane Diprose

Joining as BidWrite’s customer relationship manager in 2021, Shane brings a unique combination of bidding, key account and sales management experience, most of this gained within the fast evolving digital transformation and IT security industry.

With more than a decade spent winning new business and growing existing client relationships, Shane is well-versed in the challenges particular to winning and re-winning contracts through the tendering process. His IT background and enterprise client experience ensures a logical and structured approach, a familiarity with the evolving needs of complex organisations and a desire to instil practical and iterative improvement.

Shane is a firm believer in the value of relationships and favours a strategic and long-term approach when helping clients plan pathways to increased bidding capability.

Lara Chorley

Lara joined BidWrite in April 2023 as our Marketing Assistant. Lara brings to BidWrite a wide range of marketing skills and valuable experience gained primarily within the Australian vocational education sector.

Lara honed her skills through a busy Communications Officer role held within a not-for-profit training company. In this role she supported a multifaceted marketing team, assisting with event coordination, copywriting and marketing administration, while also utilising her visual communication skills to design and create company sales and marketing collateral.

Lara’s experience in sales and direct sales support also ensures she has a strong commercial orientation, which is underpinned by an inquisitive, analytical and data-driven approach.
